TEDCOR’s Visit Oconto County Wins 2025 Wisconsin Tourism Trailblazer Award for “One Mile, One Minute” Campaign

OCONTO COUNTY, WI – November 13, 2025 – TEDCOR’s Visit Oconto County brand has been awarded the 2025 Wisconsin Tourism Trailblazer Award for Outstanding Marketing Campaign (Budget Under $1.5 Million) by Destinations Wisconsin. The award was presented at the organization’s annual Fall Conference on November 6, recognizing the “One Mile, One Minute” campaign for its innovative approach to destination marketing and transformative impact on rural community visibility.

The “One Mile, One Minute” campaign positioned Oconto County as a convenient and welcoming destination for visitors to the 2025 Draft in Green Bay and year-round travelers. The campaign featured 66 locally-produced videos showcasing community leaders and business owners at their welcome signs and establishments, highlighting the county’s proximity to Lambeau Field, unique attractions, and renowned local hospitality.

Campaign Results:

  • Over 300,000 video views
  • More than 154,000 engagements on social media
  • 947 video shares across platforms

These organic metrics tell part of the story, but the campaign’s true success lies in its impact across small-town Wisconsin.

“While the economic impact of the Draft varied across our region, the campaign had a ripple effect we didn’t anticipate—it brought a spotlight to rural and smaller communities,” said Kelly Schwartz, Director of Marketing & Communications for TEDCOR. “I can throw metrics on how successful our reach and engagement was, but what made this special was so much more. This campaign gave people something to believe in, something to feel, something to celebrate.”

The campaign brought together businesses, town and village leaders, and community members from across Oconto County. “We took a creative risk,” Schwartz said, “and our communities showed up in ways we never expected.”

“What we didn’t realize was the momentum it created, the visibility, the scalability, the attention it brought to tourism in small towns,” Schwartz added. “Each video featured authentic local voices inviting visitors to discover a world away from traffic and crowds—showcasing year-round outdoor recreation, welcoming lodging, and the genuine Northwoods experience that defines Oconto County.”

The campaign strategically leveraged Oconto County’s location—approximately one mile and one minute from Lambeau Field—to attract Draft attendees while highlighting the destination’s year-round appeal, from outdoor recreation and historic sites to unique dining experiences and charming accommodations.

The Wisconsin Tourism Trailblazer Awards recognize outstanding achievements in marketing, partnership, and destination development across the state. This year’s awards honored five organizations for their exemplary contributions to Wisconsin’s tourism industry.

TEDCOR is already at work on 2026 initiatives to continue welcoming visitors and showcasing the best of what the county has to offer.
