Oconto County Casts Wide Net: Launches Major Economic Impact Study on Angling and Outdoor Recreation, Seeks Angler Input

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TEDCOR OCONTO, WI – TEDCOR, Oconto County's official Destination Marketing Organization, has launched a comprehensive economic impact study focusing on angling and broader outdoor recreation. In collaboration with Wisconsin's Office of Outdoor Recreation, this initiative aims to quantify the significant contributions of fishing enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers to the local economy, gathering vital data to enhance visitor experiences. "This study is an incredible opportunity to truly understand and demonstrate that economic impact," said Kelly Schwartz, Director of Marketing and Communications for TEDCOR. "Your input is invaluable! We invite all anglers and outdoor recreation visitors to participate in a short, five-minute online survey to help us understand and enhance the outdoor experience and its economic contribution to Oconto County for years to come."

Oconto County tries to lure NFL draft tourists, but not many are biting

As Green Bay prepares for a massive influx of tourists for the 2025 Draft, Oconto County hoped to draw some visitors north with affordable lodging options and online videos featuring 14 communities. The promotional videos, showcasing local charm, have garnered significant views online, aiming to create lasting awareness of the region beyond the draft.

Oconto County eyeing NFL Draft visitors

Visitors to the NFL draft in Green Bay later this month have an option when it comes to finding a place to stay, eat or just chill out. They can head north to Oconto County. The county’s border with Brown County is less than 30 minutes from Lambeau Field, where most of the draft activities will be held April 24-26.
